Gary Dosik, M.D., is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist with more than 30 years of experience practicing in the San Fernando Valley. Dr. Dosik has received extensive training in oncology and hematology, and has served in numerous leadership roles within the San Fernando Valley medical community.
After receiving a B.S. in chemistry and graduating with honors from the University of Illinois, Dr. Dosik went on to receive a medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, also in Chicago.
Dr. Dosik joined the United States Air Force following his residency. He served for two years and achieved the rank of Major. For his contributions to the development of a cancer clinic and as Director of the Physician’s Assistant Training Program, Dr. Dosik received the Air Force Commendation Medal.
Following his military service, Dr. Dosik received fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He remained at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, serving as an assistant professor of medicine and pursuing research interests in cell kinetics and the treatment of acute leukemia in adults. Dr. Dosik is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialty of Internal Medicine and in the subspecialties of Medical Oncology and Hematology.
Since relocating to the San Fernando Valley, Dr. Dosik has served as Chief of Staff at Encino Hospital Medical Center, Chief of Staff at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center and Director of Medical Oncology at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center. He served for several years on the Providence Health and Services Valley Service Ministry Board, which supervises three large San Fernando Valley hospitals.
Dr. Dosik has also held academic appointments at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, where he was an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine. Dr. Dosik is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and, with a strong background in research, has authored/coauthored more than thirty scholarly publications.
Dr. Dosik was named "Physician of the Year for 2015" by the Providence Tarzana Medical Center Medical Staff.”
